And done! Marathon Des Sables is in the books

I will write more later but for now, just a quick post to say that after two years of preparation and cancellation, I managed to successfully finish the 2022 version of Marathon des Sables, a 250km 7 day stage race across the Sahara Desert.

Was one of the toughest and most amazing experiences of my life and I am still trying to process it all. Once things have settled a little I will update more about the adventure (the MdS is most definitely an adventure rather than a simple race), but for now, a couple of pics to try and capture a little bit of the atmosphere of the “Toughest Foot Race on Earth”

My fantastic team of Tent 53, dressed in the Charity T-shirts at the end of the final stage. We did it!

Proof I actually did what once seemed impossible.

More pics and a bit of a write up to follow shortly!

  1. Richard, That is an absolutely amazing achievement. Not just the race itself, but the 2 years of training and preparations and setbacks. Well done! I am truly inspired and look forward to reading your long form report. Have a good rest.
